Empower your kids to learn about food by taking them to the market with you.
It's easy with these simple steps:
1. Go when your child is rested, and full. Then at least their moods won't be affected by tiredness or hunger.
2. Be in a good mood, set an example that this can be fun and an adventure for learning.
3. Be prepared with a grocery list, showing kids the shopping can be easy when organized.
4. Make the shopping trip a sensory adventure by asking your kids questions like "which apples are sweet and which are tart?" or "what sound is made when biting a cucumber?"
5. with older children, in the produce section, talk to them about which fruits and veggies are best for their eyes and which are good for encouraging strong bones. This may get them interested in trying new foods when they get home, too.
