Spicy, Sweet and Salty Candied Pecans
Makes 2 cups
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 cups chopped pecans
2 tablespoons water


Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the sugar, salt and cayenne pepper.
Add water and mix well.
Add pecans to the sugar mixture; stir until pecans are thoroughly coated.
Transfer to baking sheet and arrange in a single layer.
Bake 12 minutes, stirring pecans after 6 minutes; keep them in a single layer.
Immediately slide the parchment off the hot baking sheet and allow the pecans to cool completely on a heat-proof cutting board.
Once cool, remove the pecans from the parchment, break apart any clusters, and store in an airtight container.
