Replace a caffeinated pick-me up with a healthy apple…

There are some rumors that an apple has just as much caffeine as a cup of coffee. The truth is, apples contain no caffeine (great post here on Livestrong.com. HOWEVER given the high level of natural sugar they contain, apples are a very healthy alternative to caffeine, and a great afternoon pick-me-up. For an added bonus, dip slices in a little peanut butter for a protein energy boost before afternoon activities.

    So I guess there’s truth in the saying, “An apple a day, keeps the doctor away.” I love eating apples and I strongly believe that it’s very nutritional that we should always incorporate it into our diets.
