Pan-Seared Soy Ginger Tuna

Serves 4

4 -4 ounce tuna steaks

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

2 tablespoons sesame or olive oil

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon ginger, minced

2 tablespoons garlic, minced

1/4 cup cilantro, chopped

Preheat skillet on medium heat.

Season tuna with salt and pepper on both sides.

Add oil and spread to evenly coat bottom of pan; when pan is hot, but not smoking, add tuna.

Let tuna cook for about a minute and turn it over.

Add soy sauce, ginger and garlic and cook until tuna reaches desired doneness.

Remove cooked tuna from pan, let soy sauce reduce slightly and remove from heat.

For serving, top tuna with a spoonful of soy glaze and chopped cilantro.
