Chef Marshall Around Town:
We are proud to see our on-going partnership with the North Community YMCA continue to grow. Literally. The Chef Marshall O’Brien Group has been involved for years in providing programs to help kids, families and their community connect with real food by learning how to prepare tasty and nourishing recipes that help them feel their best and help them learn where food actually comes from. One specific initiative we have been involved in helping plan for several years is a rooftop greenhouse at the North Y, for which construction will start this fall. This project will allow year-round growing opportunities and thus year-round teaching opportunities. It will complement the teaching kitchen that was installed a few years ago so people can learn both where their food comes from and how to prepare it. This would not be possible without the vision and incredible generosity of the Cargill Foundation.
