Cauliflower Pizza Crust
Ingredients
- 3 cups cauliflower grated
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
- 1/4 cup mozzarella cheese
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Line a pizza pan or sheet pan with parchment paper and grease the parchment. Trim paper to fit the pan or it will scorch.
- Remove the stems from the cauliflower and cut into chunks, Place cauliflower in a food processor and pulse until it is the texture of rice. A cheese grater can also be used.
- Microwave, uncovered, in a microwave-safe bowl for approximately 4-5 minutes on high. Remove and allow to cool for at least 4-5 minutes. Place paper towels on top of cooked cauliflower and press down firmly to squeeze out as much liquid as possible. Use additional paper towels as needed.
- Combine cauliflower, egg, garlic, cheese and seasonings until mixture is doughy. Spread onto the pan and shape into a pizza crust about 12 by 12 inches.
- Bake crust for 10 minutes, rotate pan, and cook for another 8-10 minutes, or until the crust is a golden color. Crust will be firm, but not crispy.
- Remove from oven and add desired sauce, toppings and cheese.
- Return pizza to oven and bake until toppings are lightly browned, about 8-10 minutes.
