Basic Pizza Dough
Makes 2 pizza dough batches
Servings: 6 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 teaspoons sea salt
- 3 tablespoons ground cornmeal
- 1 1/2 cups white flour
- 1 1/2 cups wheat flour
- 1/4 cup fresh herbs if desired, mix with flour if used
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients first. Mix yeast with warm water, and let active, it will “foam” and get bubbly, for about 5-7 minutes.
- Mix wet with dry, and mix well, forming a ball, and work until sticky, not gooey. Add water or flour depending on consistency. Let rise a couple hours, punching periodically, and let rise.
Notes
Remember, if you use whole wheat flour, the dough won't be as fluffy, but it'll certainly work just fine and still be very delicious!
