Basic Pizza Dough

Makes 2 pizza dough batches
Servings: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons ground cornmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups white flour
  • 1 1/2 cups wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup fresh herbs if desired, mix with flour if used

Instructions

  • Mix dry ingredients first. Mix yeast with warm water, and let active, it will “foam” and get bubbly, for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Mix wet with dry, and mix well, forming a ball, and work until sticky, not gooey. Add water or flour depending on consistency. Let rise a couple hours, punching periodically, and let rise.

Notes

Remember, if you use whole wheat flour, the dough won't be as fluffy, but  it'll certainly work just fine and still be very delicious!
